As I have mentioned in the latest chapter in my story on Fictionpress, any side notes will now be found on my DeviantART journal, along with my rants and other notes about my life or attacks of chronic boredom.

Today, it's some profiles I drew up for the Chemeleons. So that you can get an idea of their characters.

Name: Patrick Akio Roderick
Nickname: Koe (声 )
Age: 18
Birthday: September 19th
Position: Vocalist
Hair: Black, outgrown
Eyes: Hazel
Complexion: Asian/Caucasian mix)
Family: Allen (Father) Chihiro (Mother) Hana (older sister)
Likes: Anime, good cooking, martial arts (karate and kendo in particular), hanging with his band, supporting his friends and his family, translating songs from foreign languages
Dislikes: Fangirls, shallow people, people who relentlessly pursue someone who doesn’t love them back, vegetable juice, his father’s cooking, chilli con carne, overindulgence
Ambition: To be a doctor
Pat, or Koe as he is known to his band and to his sister, is supportive of those he cares about, but causes hell to people who cause others misery. Owing to his hoped occupation, he takes first aid courses and pours a lot of the energy that isn’t put into the band into his biology. He gets top grades and intends to keep that up so that he can get into medical school.

Many of the Japanese songs he translates come from anime his maternal grandparents, who live in Shinjuku, Tokyo, send him as gifts. His favourite genres are action and the occult (much to his paternal grandfather’s horror) but his least favourite are harems.

Koe’s band name comes from the Japanese word for ‘voice’.

Likes: Practicing the guitar, martial arts, learning new languages, physical training.
Dislikes: Lazy people, screaming fans, shallow people
Ambition: To join the police force
Rai is nicknamed because of his lightning-fast fingers on the guitar. He is the younger of identical twins by 15 minutes and is considered the rough and ready one. Despite his bad-boy image to the girls in the school, he earns top grades, especially in music, sports and science. His weakest subject is maths, but he is far from a failing student. Outside school he’s very active and participates in a number of sports.

Rai’s band name comes from ‘Thunder’ as ‘His guitar rings with a melody of thunderous notes’ according to his friends and family alike.

Hair: Copper, short
Eyes: Blue
Complexion: Caucasian

Likes: Studying, practice, martial arts, reading, watching documentaries and crime dramas
Dislikes: Sadists, shallow people, people who think no one can resist them, spicy food, loud noises.
Ambition: To become a Crime Scene Investigator
Shito is the voice of reason in the group, calm, level-headed, but still quick on his feet, he’s the first to speak out if he feels there’s a problem with an idea. His distinct notes are his organised, yet relaxed, style in terms of clothing and his life in general. He and his twin Rai share the ambition to work together in order to take down criminals.

His name is a bit of a joke among his friends, while ‘Shito’ is indeed a male name in Japan, the kanji they use is ‘Shita’ meaning ‘under’ reflecting the nature of his instrument while ‘making it masculine’ in the Spanish manner (replacing the ‘a’ with an ‘o’ ).

Complexion: Caucasian/Hispanic mix

Likes: Spending time with friends, reading, practicing, kickboxing
Dislikes: References to the fact he’s mute
Ambition: To become a teacher
Oto and Koe were close friends since elementary school, but in middle school Oto lost his vocal chords to a rare pathogen, the operation saving his life. Koe supported him by learning sign language with him, in turn teaching the twins and the keyboardist. In class, Oto always sits next to at least one of his friends in order to participate normally in class.

Perhaps from losing his speech at a young age, Oto has become a deep thinker, but he is known for making wisecracks and only his friends and anyone who knows sign language knowing any better.

Name: Nicholas ‘Nick’ Callow
Nickname: Yuu (ユウ )
Age: 18
Birthday: August 22nd
Position: Keyboardist
Hair: Black, outgrown
Eyes: Green
Complexion: Pale
Family: Kimberly (mother) Joshua (Father) Derek (younger brother) Sara (little sister)
Likes: Horror films, meditation, trying new things, putting on a good performance, biking
Dislikes: Greedy people,
Ambition: To be a fireman
If there was a rebel in the group, Yuu would be that rebel. When he’s not showing off his ambidexterity on the keyboard, he and his sister Sara are working together on the costumes or riding on a BMX. Koe jokes that if anyone would get into trouble, Yuu would be the one, so he’s got a name that is written in katakana rather than a single character in Kanji (although ‘Yuu’ comes from ‘yubi’ meaning ‘finger’ ).

Yuu’s family works extensively in cosmetics, if there is something that would usually cost a fortune, he’ll be able to pull a few strings to get it cheaper.

Position: Lighting/equipment management
Hair: mousy brown
Eyes: Brown
Complexion: Pale
Family: Mina (mother) Cameron (Father)
Likes: Cooking, lighting, good friends
Dislikes: Moving and switching schools
Ambition: To be a journalist
The latest member of the Chameleon crew, Hikari doesn’t have a lot of musical talent, but he’s considered an artist with light, if he has the tools, he’ll be able to pull it off. He befriended Koe on his first day at Oaks Crest High.

‘Kagami Kei’

'Kagami' is Japanese for 'Mirror' this term was intended as a joke, but Koe jumped on it instead. This is referencing the fact that the Chameleons 'blend into the beat' through costumes and makeup.
